DR JAE SHIN
BDSc (UQ)
Dr Jae is the Principal Dentist of Victoria Point Family Dental. Originally from Seoul, South Korea, Jae moved to Brisbane with his family in 2000. Graduating from Indooroopilly State High School, he completed his Bachelor of Dental Science at the University of Queensland in 2011.
Since graduating, he spent 4 years working in a private practice in Rockhampton before moving back to Brisbane to be close to his family. He has been a supervisor/demonstrator at the University of Queensland Dental School since 2015, training the next generation of dentists, as a way of giving back to the profession and the community. During that time, he maintained a position at a private dental practice in Ipswich providing a broad range of treatment for the local patients before choosing to settle down in Victoria Point.
You will often hear him say; “If you were my aunty/uncle/cousin I would recommend…” when he talks about treatment options, because he genuinely believes that his recommendations would be the one that he would recommend if they were his own family.
He believes that he is there to guide every patient through their dental journey, and he will go above and beyond to help patients who are also motivated.
He is a member of Australian Dental Association and the Australian Prosthodontic Society and takes regular continuing education courses to ensure that his knowledge and skills are up to date. He has been on a volunteer trip to Cambodia with his wife Hazel to provide dental treatment to the underprivileged children and plans to return regularly!
WE ARE A QIP ACCREDITED PRACTICE
Victoria Point Family Dental is a QIP (Quality Innovation Performance) accredited dental practice meeting QIP quality standards of patient care and safety.
Currently, it is not mandatory for dental practices in Queensland to become accredited.
This means not every dental practice in Victoria Point and surrounding suburbs are QIP accredited.
However, Dr Jae and the team at Victoria Point Family Dental believe that it is imperative to strive for best practice systems and processes in delivering safe and high quality dental care for patients in the Redlands.
WHY SHOULD YOU GO TO A QIP ACCREDITED DENTAL PRACTICE?
A dental practice that has obtained QIP accreditation has demonstrated their ongoing commitment and ability to providing high quality dental care to their patients and has met the requirements based on regulations passed by both State and Federal governments.
